Week 1: Tokyo (7 Days)

Day 1-3: Iconic Attractions

Start your adventure in Tokyo, a city that never sleeps. Spend your first few days exploring iconic neighborhoods like Shibuya and Shinjuku. Be sure to visit the Shibuya Crossing, one of the busiest pedestrian intersections in the world, and indulge in shopping at the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, where you can escape the city’s hustle and bustle.

For a taste of local culture, explore Asakusa, home to the historic Senso-ji Temple. Don’t forget to wander through the Nakamise shopping street for traditional snacks and souvenirs.

Day 4-5: Modern Tokyo

Next, immerse yourself in the futuristic side of Tokyo by visiting Odaiba, where you can enjoy entertainment complexes, shopping malls, and breathtaking views of the Rainbow Bridge. For a truly unique experience, check out the TeamLab Borderless digital art museum, which offers an immersive experience that’s perfect for all ages.

Also, make time for Akihabara, the mecca for anime and gaming enthusiasts. Whether you're into video games, manga, or electronic gadgets, this district has something for everyone.

Day 6-7: Cultural Experiences

On the last days in Tokyo, indulge in the city’s culinary delights. Visit the famous Tsukiji Outer Market for fresh seafood and local delicacies, or try an authentic sushi breakfast.

For a more cultural experience, consider a traditional tea ceremony in Ueno Park or take part in a kimono-wearing experience in Harajuku. Conclude your Tokyo stay with a visit to Tokyo Tower for panoramic views of the sprawling metropolis.

Week 2: Kyoto and Beyond

Day 8-11: Kyoto (4 Days)

After Tokyo, take the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto, the heart of traditional Japan - make sure to sit on the left hand side and keep an eye out for the beautiful Mount Fuji! Spend your first day visiting the stunning Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), a Zen temple covered in gold leaf. Don’t miss the beautiful Fushimi Inari Taisha, famous for its thousands of vibrant red torii gates. For a unique experience, stroll through the historic Gion district and keep an eye out for geisha.

Day 11: Day Trip to Nara

Dedicate one day during your time in Kyoto to Nara, known for its free-roaming deer and the impressive Todai-ji Temple, which houses a giant Buddha statue. The peaceful parks and ancient temples offer a refreshing escape from the bustling city. Nara is only a 50 minute train ride from Kyoto, or alternatively, you can travel to Nara from Osaka, which is only a 40minute train ride away!

Day 12: Hiroshima (1 Day)

From Kyoto, head to Hiroshima. Spend the day at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park to reflect on the city’s history, and visit the Atomic Bomb Dome. For lunch, try the local specialty, okonomiyaki, a savory pancake filled with various ingredients.

Day 13-14: Osaka (2 Days)

Finally, travel to Osaka for the last leg of your journey. Spend your time exploring Dotonbori, known for its vibrant nightlife and street food. Be sure to try takoyaki (octopus balls) and kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers).
